Dear Parents/Guardians,
The Elk Grove Unified School District Virtual Academy is an innovative, online, K-12 educational model. This accredited online academy allows students in kindergarten through 12th grade to experience teaching and learning from virtually anywhere a computer will take them. The curriculum is provided through a partnership between the Elk Grove Unified School District and K¹², a national online program.
The flexibility and unique design of the program allows parents and students to partner directly with an Elk Grove Unified teacher to customize a program to best match a student’s learning needs. It is a school within the Elk Grove Unified School District, but available to students in Sacramento, Amador, Yolo, El Dorado, Placer, Contra Costa, Solano and San Joaquin counties.
Elk Grove Unified School District Virtual Academy uses the award-winning K¹² curriculum, which has been developed by some of the best minds in education. This rigorous, content-rich curriculum meets or exceeds state standards across all subject areas. Students demonstrate their knowledge and skills through state standardized tests. All courses are aligned to the State of California’s standards and benchmarks. Classes span from core subjects to a wide variety of electives with a strong emphasis on building skills and critical thinking.
By enrolling in the Elk Grove Unified School District Virtual Academy, you are partnering with a team of knowledgeable and experienced educators. Highly-qualified Elk Grove Unified School District teachers work with you in monitoring student progress, attendance, and content mastery while providing professional insight, instruction, and support. Our administrative and support staff are committed to the success of your child.
